The Brazil Center, located in Shanghai's Yangpu district, will open on Aug 15. Established by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, ApexBrasil, it is the first of its kind in Asia and aims to strengthen bilateral exchange and cooperation.

The center's establishment follows a memorandum of understanding signed between the Yangpu district government and ApexBrasil in June 2024, marking a significant milestone in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Sino-Brazilian diplomatic relations.

Located at the Changyang Campus innovation hub, the center incorporates Brazilian design elements such as wood, natural materials, and green features. Once operational, it will serve as a comprehensive service platform, facilitating the expansion of Brazilian and Chinese enterprises into each other's markets.

In addition, Yangpu and ApexBrasil will boost Sino-Brazilian ties through joint initiatives in key sectors, such as green low-carbon development, bioeconomy, sustainable agricultural science and technology, and the digital economy. Brazilian enterprises are also encouraged to explore the Chinese market via the annual China International Import Expo.

As a testament to this growing cooperation, the center has already facilitated connections for over 100 Brazilian companies and institutions with their Chinese counterparts through industrial and demand-supply matchmaking.

To date, it has attracted more than 300 Chinese and Brazilian enterprises to collaborate across sectors such as the economy, trade, science and technology, culture, and sports.
