Asia's first 'One Piece' immersive carnival opens in Shanghai
Shanghai is now home to Asia's first large-scale immersive carnival inspired by the classic anime One Piece.
Spanning over 30,000 square meters, the event merges themed attractions, interactive experiences, cultural performances, specialty dining, and exclusive merchandise.
Visitors can explore five recreated zones from the series: Bounty Hall, the Arabasta Kingdom, Water 7 (the Capital of Water), Mary Geoise, and a combined area featuring Fish-Man Island, Wano Country, and Egghead Island.
Each zone offers far more than static displays, with interactive features that draw guests directly into the adventure.
Fans can assemble their own crew or join a huge fleet of up to 499 members, receive personalized wanted posters, and compete for real-time rankings through an online mini program.
The daily "ultimate treasure chest", limited to 100 prizes, challenges players to complete 10 adventure logs and quiz missions to unlock rewards. Augmented reality exploration reveals hidden storylines, while motion-sensing battle games recreate the anime's dynamic fight scenes.
Two premium attractions are also available: a land-based inflatable playground and a refreshing water park, each covering more than 500 sq m.
On the merchandise front, the Shanghai Mint has launched the world's first limited-edition One Piece high-relief copper medal, a 2-gram pure silver commemorative ticket featuring the Oriental Pearl Tower, and its debut blind box series of pure silver collectible cards.
The carnival runs through Aug 31.
