Lindt opens first store in China on Huaihai Road
Swiss chocolate maker Lindt has opened its first store in China on Shanghai's Huaihai Road, marking a milestone for the brand, which was founded in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1845.
Located at Longfeng PRSCO, the store brings Lindt's nearly 180 years of chocolate-making heritage to one of Shanghai's best-known shopping areas.
One of the store's main highlights is its Pick & Mix station, which is making its Chinese market debut. Customers can choose from 26 chocolate flavors, create their own assortment, and purchase their selection by weight.
The range includes classic milk chocolate as well as rich flavors featuring nuts, caramel, sea salt, and other ingredients. Each chocolate is crafted with Lindt's signature smooth texture.
Out of the 26 options, the top seller is the store-exclusive Raspberries & Cream chocolate. It has a white chocolate shell and a tender raspberry filling, whose tart fruitiness balances the sweetness of the chocolate. Staff note that this flavor is only available only at Lindt's first store in China.
The store has also launched three Shanghai-exclusive gift box designs inspired by local landmarks and cityscapes, including the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shikumen architecture, and the city's iconic plane trees.
The Huaihai Road shopping area has become a popular destination for Chinese and international brands opening their first stores in recent years. In 2025 alone, it welcomed 87 new stores, including three global debuts and 20 first stores in China.
