Hainan Airlines resumes direct flights between Brussels and Shanghai

Hainan Airlines resumed non-stop flights between Brussels and Shanghai on June 18. This move is expected to enhance exchanges and cooperation between China and Belgium, benefiting the people of both nations, said Wu Gang, Charge d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of China in Belgium.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony for the resumed route in Brussels, Wu Gang praised the flight as a vital link between the "Capital of Europe" and China's economic hub.

Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport Company, also spoke at the ceremony, describing Shanghai as an ideal first stop in China for passengers from Belgium and Europe, whether for leisure or business. He highlighted Shanghai's significance as a major tourist destination in Asia.

Tim Vandenput, a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, was also present at the ceremony.

From June 15 to July 31, a 10-second promotional video is being shown on a large high-definition screen at Brussels Airport, inviting global visitors to explore Shanghai. Produced by the China Cultural Center in Brussels in collaboration with Hainan Airlines, the video is expected to reach nearly 100,000 passengers per day passing through the airport.

The Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, along with the China Cultural Center in Brussels and Hainan Airlines, distributed Shanghai-themed souvenirs and tourist guides to passengers boarding the inaugural flight from Brussels to Shanghai. These gifts allow passengers to experience a warm welcome and a taste of Shanghai's culture even before their arrival.
