Shanghai-based China Eastern Airlines launched a new service starting June 24, which will allow passengers to or from the Yangtze River Delta region to change their departure or destination without paying extra refunding fees, according to the Shanghai-based carrier.

Eligible passengers with China Eastern Airlines or its affiliated Shanghai Airlines can change their departure or destination into any airports in Shanghai and provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui within four hours before the flight without paying refunding fees.

Amid the fast-paced modern life, changing itinerary usually incurs refunding and other inconvenience. The new service initiated by the China Eastern is expected to lower cost for targeted clients.

According to the airliner, the service is available for 379 domestic flights either taking off or landing at the 24 airports in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The launch of the service taps into potential demands during the summer, a conventional peak season for business trips, tourism and students' vocations, the carrier added.
