Ceremony kicks off global promotion for Shanghai Summer

The global promotion for Shanghai Summer, a global consumption season identified from July to October, was launched on June 21 in East China's cosmopolis Shanghai, according to official sources.

The consumption promotion event will consist of seven benchmark activities with international influence including Shanghai Tourism Festival, Rolex Shanghai Masters (ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai) and "On the top of Pyramid: the Civilization of Ancient Egypt" exhibition.

In addition, 58 other activities with distinctive features will be staged to attract both domestic and international participants. The activities will start from the first weekend of July and last until the second weekend of October.

During the ceremony on June 21, a slew of enterprises including China Eastern Airlines, Jiushi Group, Jinjiang Group, Marriot, Cathay Pacific Airways and lifestyle sharing platform Xiaohongshu became the first batch of global promotion partners of the Shanghai Summer.

The promotion of the Shanghai Summer also launched the logo of the international consumption season, which incorporates the city's iconic elements in the likes of the Huangpu River, Oriental Pearl Tower, and shikumen, a traditional Shanghai architectural style that combines Western and Chinese elements.

The promotion conference was handpicked on June 21, which traditional Chinese solar calendar's Summer Solstice falls on this year.

The ceremony was jointly held by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Information Office of Shanghai Municipality.
