Nov 18 – Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met with Zhao Peng, CEO of Citadel Securities.

Chen encouraged Citadel to increase its investment in Shanghai, adapt to market developments and enterprise needs, and explore new business services. He said he hopes that Citadel would explore new business in Shanghai and assist its construction as an international financial center with its mature international experiences.

Zhao spoke highly of Shanghai's comprehensive financial market system and first-class business environment. He expressed his hope to bring more advanced technologies into the Chinese market while fostering international exchange and shared learning.

Nov 18 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Bruce Carnegie-Brown, chairman of Lloyd's of London.

Gong encouraged Lloyd's and other renowned global financial institutions to set up more institutions, businesses, and projects in Shanghai, thereby contributing to the advancement of the Shanghai International Reinsurance Exchange.

Brown shared that he was deeply impressed by Shanghai's vitality and market confidence. He also expressed his aspiration for Lloyd's to increase its investments in the city, promote business innovation, and support the international growth of Chinese insurance businesses.

Gong highlighted Shanghai's focus on its automotive industry. He welcomed the group to introduce high-end manufacturing, cutting-edge technologies, and innovative resources to help support the high-quality development of the city's manufacturing sector.

Klein emphasized the significance of ZF establishing its regional headquarters and R&D center in Shanghai, adding that the group views the International Business Leaders' Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai as an important platform and remains committed to the city's industrial development.

Gong emphasized the importance of win-win cooperation between the two cities, noting the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and New Zealand. He invited Shanghai enterprises to invest in Dunedin and called for deeper collaboration in areas such as talent cultivation and technological innovation.

Radich conveyed his eagerness to enhance exchanges between universities in the two cities, and foster collaboration in areas such as digital health, education, and film and television, for the mutual benefit of both nations.

Nov 20 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Pichai Chunhavajira, Thailand's deputy prime minister and finance minister.

Gong conveyed his optimism that both sides could jointly develop smart agriculture, new energy vehicles, and green industries, seizing the opportunities arising from the mutual visa exemption between China and Thailand.

Pichai welcomed Shanghai enterprises to invest in Thailand. He expressed his anticipation for potential cooperation opportunities in future industries such as the digital economy and artificial intelligence.

Nov 20 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Jane Fraser, CEO of Citi.

Gong encouraged Citi to expand its operations in Shanghai and help establish Shanghai as a global asset management center. He also welcomed Citi to continue to participate in the Lujiazui Forum.

Fraser expressed Citi's commitment to supporting China's development and financial reform, noting that China is its third-largest global market. She also shared the group's plans to provide greater support for Chinese enterprises as they expand globally.
