The Legend Sandy Asian Agility Open 2025, one of Asia's top dog agility competitions, was held from March 29 to 30 on Changxing Island, Chongming district.

The event brought together 200 teams from around the world, offering a thrilling athletic showcase of top-tier canines while promoting international exchanges in canine sports.

Spectators were treated to an exciting display of speed, agility, and teamwork between dogs and their handlers.

The event featured a rookie cup, a jumping competition, and an agility competition, with participants grouped by shoulder height.

Even in the opening rookie cup, first-time competitors impressed audiences by skillfully navigating hurdles, tunnels, and weave poles under their handlers' guidance.

"It's my first time competing with my dog. Though we didn't place, I'm proud of our performance and enjoyed the experience," said a competitor surnamed Zhang, who entered with her border collie.

Agility sports not only help regulate a dog's behavior through training but also strengthen its bond with the owner while promoting physical fitness.

"There are no breed restrictions for participating dogs. With both rookie and professional competitions available, everyone from seasoned athletes to beginners can find a suitable stage on which to compete," said Xue Jingjie, event organizer and head of the Asia Dog Sport Club.
