Shanghai unveils new passes to facilitate inbound, senior travelers

Shanghai Jiushi Group, the operator of Shanghai's public transportation card, has introduced two new products aimed at making travel easier for inbound tourists and elderly visitors.
Blending transportation, culture, tourism, and shopping benefits, the two passes target niche markets while enhancing the overall quality of city services.
The Shanghai Pass three-day ticket caters to foreign travelers eligible for China's 240-hour visa-free transit policy.
This digital pass offers unlimited use of public transportation in Shanghai for three days, access to 22 major tourist attractions such as the Oriental Pearl Tower and Wukang Road, and shopping discounts worth over 800 yuan ($111) at more than 30 stores across popular commercial districts.
Starting June 1, inbound travelers will be able to purchase the pass via the bilingual Shanghai Pass mini-program in mobile payment app Alipay.
To better serve senior tourists, Jiushi also introduced the Leling Pass (or Senior Pass). Available in 369 yuan and 699 yuan dual-person packages, the pass includes bundled hotel stays at premium hotels, admission to scenic spots such as Dongping National Forest Park and Xisha Pearl Lake and local souvenirs.
The all-in-one card will go on sale from June 1, offering a "slow travel" experience for senior tourists.
