Jan 12 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Sergio P. Ermotti, CEO of Switzerland-based financial services group UBS Group AG, and his delegation.

Gong said he hopes UBS will strengthen its services to support Chinese companies in going global. He also expressed the expectation that UBS will actively promote Shanghai among its global partners, guide a wider range of funds to invest in the city, and encourage more financial institutions and high-quality enterprises to establish a long-term presence in Shanghai.

Ermotti said that UBS has hosted its Greater China Conference in Shanghai for 26 consecutive years, exploring the investment opportunities China offers to global investors.

He expressed UBS's unwavering commitment to China, particularly Shanghai, and its growing confidence in expanding its business in the country. He added that UBS is willing to serve as a bridge, helping international investors invest in China and supporting Chinese investors in expanding globally.
