March 24 – Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met with Poul Weihrauch, chief executive officer and president of Mars, a global food and pet care company.
Chen encouraged Mars to deepen practical cooperation with Shanghai in aligning and formulating industry standards. He also called for joint efforts to drive innovation in consumer products and business models, and to create more influential, trend-setting consumer events to better meet people's evolving expectations and needs for a better life.
Weihrauch said the company has achieved significant growth in China and in Shanghai, supported by the country's robust market expansion and deep talent pool.
He reaffirmed the company's commitment to sustainable development, with a focus on further tailoring its offerings to the Chinese and Shanghai markets, and delivering more diverse, higher-quality products, services, and experiences.

March 25 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Geoff Martha, chairman and chief executive officer of US-based medical technology company Medtronic.
Gong expressed hope that Medtronic will continue to strengthen its full industrial chain presence in Shanghai, bring more high-quality resources, major projects, and functional divisions to the city, expand the scale of research and development, production, and training, actively support the innovation and development of local enterprises, and promote the localized research, development, and production of more medical technology products.
Martha said Medtronic will continue to increase its investment in Shanghai, introducing more high-end, advanced products to benefit local patients.
He added that the company will further expand its medical technology portfolio in China, contribute to the development of Shanghai's healthcare innovation ecosystem, and help local innovations benefit the global healthcare industry.

March 25 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Wendell P. Weeks, chairman and chief executive officer of US-based materials science company Corning.
Gong said he hopes Corning will continue to expand its investment and presence in Shanghai, while further strengthening the role of its Shanghai headquarters within the company's global network.
He also said he expects the company to support the transformation and upgrading of Shanghai's manufacturing sector, help attract global innovation resources, including technology, talent, and capital, and deepen its integration into the city's local manufacturing supply chain.
Weeks said Shanghai offers a favorable business environment and expressed gratitude for the city's strong support, particularly in intellectual property protection, adding that "Shanghai truly feels like home to us".
He added that Corning will continue to increase investment in capacity and technology in the city, and introduce more products, services, and solutions for global markets.

March 27 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Dame Susan Langley, the Lord Mayor of the City of London.
Gong underscored the importance of leveraging the 30th anniversary of the partnership between Shanghai and the City of London to strengthen exchanges and deepen cooperation in green finance, offshore finance, and fintech.
He said he hopes the two cities will jointly develop a multi-layered green financial system and diversified green financial products.
Gong also highlighted opportunities for cooperation in cross-border investment and financing, financial market connectivity, and the application of cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence in the financial sector.
Langley praised the longstanding cooperation between the two cities, noting that it has significantly boosted bilateral investment and contributed to the economic development of both China and the United Kingdom.
She said the two cities share many common development goals and visions, and expressed expectations for further collaboration in areas such as renminbi internationalization, green finance, and capital market connectivity.
