Recap: Intl exchange activity of Shanghai leadership (May 11-17)
May 14 – Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met with Khaled El-Enany, director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
Chen stated that Shanghai will continue to strengthen communication and coordination with UNESCO, fully support the operation of the UNESCO International Institute for STEM Education in the city, and advance the inclusive development of STEM education worldwide.
He also called for deeper exchanges and mutual learning in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital education, creative cities, and cultural heritage protection, while promoting joint efforts to establish more platforms for cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
El-Enany expressed hope that cooperation with Shanghai would be further expanded on the existing foundation to promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
