Recap: Intl exchange activities of Shanghai leadership (May 25-31)
May 28 – Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Shanghai.
Chen expressed Shanghai's willingness to further deepen its friendship-city relationship with Belgrade, strengthen economic, trade and investment ties, promote mutual learning in urban governance, and expand practical cooperation in areas including education, culture, tourism and sports.
He also called for closer people-to-people exchanges, especially among young people, to further strengthen the ironclad friendship between China and Serbia.
Vucic expressed hope that the two sides will continue expanding cooperation in economic and trade affairs and tourism, deepen exchanges and mutual learning in areas such as high technology, industrial development and urban governance, further strengthen the two countries' ironclad friendship, and better benefit their peoples.
May 27 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Edwin Tong, Singapore's minister for law and second minister for home affairs, in Shanghai.
Gong said Shanghai is willing to continue working with Singapore to make good use of the Singapore-Shanghai Comprehensive Cooperation Council, deepen exchanges and collaboration in areas including economic and trade affairs, industrial investment, education and technology, and culture and tourism, achieve higher-level mutual benefit, and bring greater benefits to the people of both places.
Tong said he looks forward to further strengthening mutual learning and exchanges through the Singapore-Shanghai Comprehensive Cooperation Council in areas including finance, talent exchange, culture and tourism, urban governance, mediation and arbitration, to deepen cooperation and ties between the two sides.

May 28 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Frederic Denefle, president of the International Union of Marine Insurance, in Shanghai.
Gong expressed hope that the International Union of Marine Insurance will continue to support Shanghai's deeper integration into the global marine insurance system, support the Shanghai Institute of Marine Insurance in participating in the formulation of international rules, strengthen talent exchanges and cooperation with Shanghai, and introduce more international insurance and reinsurance institutions to the city.
Denefle said he looks forward to further deepening cooperation and exchanges in areas such as digitalization, intelligent transformation and green development of the shipping industry, and expressed confidence that such efforts will yield fruitful results.
