Recap: Intl exchange activity of Shanghai leadership (May 18-24)
May 22 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Singapore's Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong in Shanghai.
Gong expressed hope that the Singapore-Shanghai Comprehensive Cooperation Council will continue to serve as a platform for deepening exchanges and collaboration between the two sides in areas including trade and investment, education and technology, urban governance, and culture and tourism, to achieve higher-level mutual benefit and deliver greater opportunities to the people of both places.
Lee said that in his exchanges with Singaporean businesspeople working in Shanghai, he sensed their strong confidence in the city's future development prospects.
He added that since the establishment of the Singapore-Shanghai Comprehensive Cooperation Council, the two sides have carried out extensive cooperation. He expressed hope that both sides will deepen practical cooperation across a wide range of sectors, achieve win-win development, and better benefit the people of both places through the cooperation mechanism.
