With the Spring Festival around the corner, Shanghai's long-standing Hongqiao Flower Market reopened to the public with a fresh look after months of renovation, adding a public green space and a pet store.

The market now features 6,300 square meters of newly created public green space for relaxation and enjoyment.

It also renovated aging infrastructure by widening internal roads, which had been in use for over a decade, and resurfacing them with anti-slip, permeable asphalt to enhance pedestrian comfort.

Parking has been significantly improved with the addition of dozens of spaces and optimized traffic flow, resolving previous accessibility issues.

Beyond environmental upgrades, the market diversifies its appeal with the introduction of a sprawling pet store, which has quickly become a popular draw for visitors.

To better accommodate pet owners, dedicated drinking stations, pet restrooms, and tethering posts have been installed.

Meanwhile, the market's annual Chinese New Year flower fair features thousands of flower varieties sourced from Yunnan, Guangdong, and Fujian provinces, including traditional festive blooms, imported varieties, and mixed potted plants catering to diverse preferences.
