Holiday cruises feature World Cup, pet-friendly trips
More than 10 themed sailing trips, including a World Cup-themed cruise, will run along the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, combining river views, visits to nearby waterfront landmarks, and ticket-holder discounts.
The Xuhui Riverside route on the Huangpu River will offer a World Cup-themed experience during the holiday.
Passengers can first head to Gate M West Bund Dream Center to watch FIFA World Cup 2026 matches, visit a Lego soccer field installation, take photos with a three-meter-tall replica of the World Cup trophy, and view Lego recreations of famous moments featuring soccer stars such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, before boarding a one-hour river cruise.
A pet-friendly cruise will continue to operate once daily during the holiday. The vessel is equipped with facilities for pets.
Because holiday crowds are expected, passengers must bring identification and arrive at the pier 30 minutes early to collect their tickets. Those bringing pets must use pet pads or diapers for their animals. Dogs taller than 50 centimeters at the shoulder must wear a muzzle, and owners must bring a pet vaccination certificate or dog registration certificate for verification.
The Suzhou Creek cruise service has partnered with Tian An 1000 Trees to launch graduation-themed sailing trips. On June 19 and 20, two singers will perform simultaneously, one aboard a cruise boat departing from Changhua Road Pier and the other on the riverside promenade at Tian An 1000 Trees, creating a waterfront concert experience as passengers travel along the Putuo section of Suzhou Creek.
The holiday cruise program introduces several ticket-linked promotions connecting river tours with nearby cultural venues and commercial areas.
Through Aug 15, passengers who collect a commemorative ticket stub, available in limited quantities, from the Shanghai Sihang Warehouse Battle Memorial can receive a 10 percent discount on the 30-minute Suzhou Creek loop cruise departing from Sihang Warehouse Pier. The cruise discount can be combined with an additional subsidy from the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China for further savings.
Passengers can exchange the commemorative ticket stub for limited-edition souvenirs at the memorial after collecting six stamps from participating merchants on the back of the stub.
Through June 26, holders of guest passes or movie ticket stubs from the 2026 Shanghai International Film Festival can receive a 15 percent discount on tickets for all Suzhou Creek routes except those departing from Sihang Warehouse Pier.
Passengers on selected Dragon Boat Festival-themed sailings departing from Bund Origin Pier will also receive complimentary souvenirs.
