6th Half Marathon Suzhou Creek Cultural Tourism Festival opens
The 6th Half Marathon Suzhou Creek Cultural Tourism Festival and the From Yuan Dynasty Sluice to Waibaidu Bridge: The History and Culture of Suzhou Creek exhibition opened at the Shanghai History Museum on July 18.
As one of the signature events of the Shanghai Tourism Festival, this year's Half Marathon Suzhou Creek Cultural Tourism Festival runs from July to October and features hundreds of high-quality cultural, commercial, tourism, sports, and exhibition activities, offering residents and visitors a rich and diverse waterfront experience.
During the festival, Putuo district is also issuing cultural and tourism vouchers through Alipay, which can be used at hotels, cinemas, scenic spots, theme parks, museums, and for Suzhou Creek cruises.
At the opening ceremony, cities along the Shanghai-Nanjing Industrial Innovation Belt, together with Shanghai's cultural heritage and museum institutions and the cultural heritage and museology departments at Shanghai universities, launched a cooperation initiative in the cultural heritage and museum sector.
Representatives of the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, the Putuo district government, Shanghai West Railway Station, Jade Buddha Temple, Tian An 1000 Trees, M50 Creative Park, the Suzhou Creek cruise operator, and the "Meet China" project signed a government-enterprise cooperation agreement to enhance inbound tourism services and make spending more convenient for visitors.
The temple, shopping complex, creative park and cruise service together form Putuo's "Yushu Linfeng" inbound tourism brand, which is centered on the Changshou Bay stretch of the Suzhou Creek in Putuo. It weaves together four evocative themes: urban tranquility, architectural wonders, industrial renewal, and waterfront charm, creating a multidimensional cultural journey.
