The 2025 Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season is just around the corner — set to begin in early July and run through to mid-October.

The city's hip Xintiandi shopping area is ready to launch a series of themed activities from June 27 to Aug 31 that blend international culture, fashion and consumer trends.

- Immersive Hong Kong touring exhibition

Running from June 19 to 29, the Immersive Hong Kong touring exhibition will transform the outdoor plaza and central atrium of Xintiandi Style I into a vivid celebration of Hong Kong culture. A massive naked-eye 3D screen will bring cityscapes to life, while a special booth presented by the West Kowloon Cultural District offers interactive games showcasing its artistic spirit.

- "A Taste of Hong Kong" market

From June 27 to 29, a special market will line the streets of Madang Road and Zizhong Road outside Xintiandi Style II. Co-hosted by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and local partners, the market features over 60 vendors offering authentic Hong Kong cuisine, cocktails, desserts and cultural products. Visitors can also enjoy fun games like a TVB drama trivia competition — TVB being one of Hong Kong's premier television networks. They can win themed merchandise and shopping coupons — all in an atmosphere brimming with nostalgic charm.

- K-pop culture week

Highlights include the "BTS: BACK" pop-up store at the B2 Level of Xintiandi Style II, starting June 20 — offering limited-edition merchandise and albums from BTS, the hot South Korean boy band. Running alongside is a special K-pop culture experience pop-up, which recreates six great K-pop-inspired scenes. One of the most eye-catching is a red wall paying tribute to the set of Show! Music Core — a popular weekly live music program by MBC where Korea's hottest idols perform their latest hits. With professional makeup artists and dozens of performance outfits identical to those worn by idols, the pop-up lets fans step directly into their favorite music show moments.

- Summer of Riesling: Wines of Germany

Riesling is Germany's most famous and widely planted grape variety and the country is considered the global benchmark for Riesling wines. From Aug 22 to 24, wine lovers can beat the heat at the annual German wine festival in the indoor atrium of Xintiandi Style I — a refreshing toast to the best of German wines.

With the summer travel season boosted by China's expanding visa-free policies, Xintiandi is enhancing its shopping experience for international visitors. A total of 19 retailers have joined the instant "refund upon purchase" program. This enables tourists to obtain tax refund forms directly at qualifying stores — and receive cash refunds at designated tax refund points on-site.
