Piaget brings 'Shapes of Extraleganza' to Shanghai at Zhangyuan
Luxury watch and jewelry brand Piaget opened its first limited-time experiential exhibition at Zhangyuan on Dec 15. Showcasing more than 100 high jewelry and watch creations, the exhibition also marks the Shanghai debut of Piaget's new Shapes of Extraleganza collection.
The collection draws inspiration from Piaget's historic 21st Century collection launched in 1969, one of the maison's most iconic and innovative series. Within the exhibition, visitors can also explore a smaller, themed presentation titled Essence of Extraleganza, which carries forward the key design language of the original 1969 collection.
Two standout pieces immediately capture attention. Wave Illusion features layered red and orangey-pink spinels accented with diamonds, creating a fluid, wave-like effect that shifts with the light. Gleaming Shapes combines triangles and squares in a bold composition, transforming simple geometric forms into expressive, dynamic art.
Another highlight is the Piaget Society section, inspired by the layered natural landscapes of the French town of Sete. The space recreates the brand's distinctive creative ecosystem while paying tribute to the iconic bottle design of Claude Montana's classic perfume from the 1980s.
The exhibition also highlights Piaget's expertise in goldwork and gem setting. From precise micro-pave jewelry setting techniques to exclusive marquise-cut gemstones with 55 facets, each creation reflects the brand's century-long heritage through a contemporary lens.
Among the featured pieces, the Curved Artistry necklace stands out. Centered on an octagonal yellow sapphire, it incorporates unexpected materials such as meteoritic iron and green chalcedony, exploring bold contrasts of color and form through its curved design.
Coinciding with the exhibition, Piaget has opened its first boutique at Zhangyuan. The space fully showcases the brand's expertise in the Play of Shapes, House of Gold craftsmanship, and Ultra-thin watchmaking.
