As the year draws to a close, Pudong New Area is unveiling a packed lineup of winter events, ranging from art exhibitions and seasonal installations to festive markets and special dining offers across its major shopping areas.

 

Dreamy festive decorations light up the district

IFC Mall

Starting on Nov 25, IFC Mall has teamed up with Cartier to unveil a spectacular holiday scene, featuring more than 2,500 plush characters that appear in surprise pop-ups. The mall is also hosting a limited Music Wishes season, featuring brand collaborations, festive pop-ups, and live holiday performances.

Century Link Mall

Until Jan 4, the mall is transformed into a walk-through picture book inspired by the charm of vintage illustration. Visitors can step into a whimsical story world, complete with romantic winter scenes and gentle pastel details.

Through Feb 28, the sunken plaza has become a mini winter resort, featuring an outdoor ice rink, a 10-meter snowman, and cozy snow huts. International figure-skating artists are also scheduled to perform stylish ice shows.

From now until Jan 4, the mall is creating a star-themed world, highlighted by glowing art installations, brand-led pop-ups, lively holiday parades, and a full calendar of seasonal performances.

Museum of Art Pudong

From Dec 13 to May 6, the museum is presenting The Wonder of Patterns, a major collaboration with the Musee du Louvre, featuring around 300 treasures from India, Iran, and the Ottoman world dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries.

A special partnership with the Centre d'Art Rodin also allows visitors to purchase discounted tickets with an MAP admission stub or membership card during the exhibition period.

Times Square

To celebrate its sixth anniversary, Times Square is hosting the first East China exhibition of Miss Bitter Melon, the beloved animated character created by illustrator Xin Anxiao, from now until Jun 3. Highlights include giant glass decals, a character installation matrix, a snowy Christmas scene, and a pop-up store debuting more than 30 new products, along with holiday giveaways starting now.

Super Brand Mall

From now until Jan 4, the mall is hosting a pop-up event featuring the popular virtual idol boy group Laser & Manta, with themed zones for interaction, merchandise, and fan activities, bridging ACGN culture with offline retail.

Running through March 8, L+City and Disney China are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Toy Story with a themed pop-up world, a stamp-collection trail, and character-inspired installations starring Buzz, Woody, and Lotso.

Huizhi Life Center

The 5th Zhangjiang Art Festival, running through Jan 5, presents an immersive exploration of traditional craftsmanship under the theme The Convergence: A New Weave for Ancient Heritage. The program features Tang Dynasty (618-907)-inspired performances and creative installations that blend classical Chinese aesthetics with contemporary design.

New Bund Chocolane (Crystal Plaza & New Bund Red Lane)

The New Bund Chocolane, Shanghai's first chocolate-themed festival, is taking place at Crystal Plaza and New Bund Red Lane across two weekends. Following a lively opening weekend on Dec 13-14, the festival returns for its final round on Dec 20-21, offering visitors another chance to experience the sweet celebration.

The event brings together 46 chocolate brands from 11 cities across eight countries. Highlights include the Belgian royal chocolatier Pierre Marcolini, Britain's oldest luxury chocolate maker Charbonnel et Walker, Italy's historic confectionery brand Leone, and Swiss chocolate master Lindt.

Bicester Village Shanghai Winter Market

Through Jan 4, Bicester Village Shanghai is curating a cozy food-forward market with 21 beloved vendors. More than 200 boutiques across the shopping destination are offering year-end deals, and shoppers can receive limited-edition blind boxes with qualifying purchases.
