Donghua University 2026 Spring General Chinese Language Program registration opens
Founded in 1951, Donghua University is one of the 75 higher education institutions directly under China's Ministry of Education. The International Education Center, located at the Yan'an Road Campus, offers a variety of non-degree Chinese language programs.
For the spring semester of 2026, the office will continue to offer its flagship program, the General Chinese Language Program. The program provides a high-quality learning experience, abundant study resources, and practical advisory services. Registration is now open. Interested students can check the information below.

Program plan
1. Levels offered:
Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced, with a minimum of eight students per class.
Admitted students must take an online placement test before registration. Results will guide class assignment. Students may apply for a level adjustment during the first week of classes.

3. Learning materials:
The program uses the self-compiled textbook series Chinese in Real Life. Supplementary materials include instruction videos for key vocabulary and language points, dialogue videos, audios, and class summaries.
All materials and assignments will be available on an online learning platform, allowing students to study and review the content at any time.
Fees
- Application fee: 600 yuan ($84.57)
- Tuition: 10,800 yuan per semester. Textbook fee is included.
- Insurance: 400 yuan per semester

Additional information
1. Visa:
The university will assist with applying for a study visa (X1/X2) or a residence permit for study, depending on the student's current visa status. Please consult the International Education Center for more details.
2. Accommodation:
Students can choose to live off-campus or apply for on-campus dormitories. Those applying for campus accommodation must apply independently according to the university's email instructions. Room assignments are based on availability.
3. Refund policy:
- Application fee: Non-refundable.
- Tuition:
- Full refund: withdrawal before the program begins
- 50 percent refund: withdrawal within the first week
- No refund after the second week
4. Insurance:
All full-time program students are required to purchase the designated insurance for international students in China online before registration.
Note: The insurance must remain valid for the full duration of the program.
Application and admission
1. Online application:
Participants should apply to https://admissions.dhu.edu.cn and upload the required documents, including their passport pages and ID photo. The application deadline is Dec 31, 2025.
Notes:
- New applicants referred by DHU international students in the previous program can receive a full waiver of the application fee. Please note that the full name of the referrer is required.
- Students continuing the program will enjoy an application fee waiver and tuition deduction. Details will be provided separately.
2. Admission:
The university will review applications within two to four weeks. Admitted students will receive an electronic admission notice and an email with details on the online placement test and enrollment details. Applicants should pay tuition and insurance fees on time and prepare for entry.
3. Registration:
