The Huangpu River flows through Shanghai, separating the city into Pudong to the east and Puxi to the west. This division makes ferries an essential part of the city's transportation system.

With the construction of numerous bridges, tunnels, and subways, travelers now have many options for crossing the Huangpu River. Yet, ferryboats, with over a century of history, remain a popular choice for pedestrians and cyclists thanks to their convenience and low cost.

Currently, 17 ferry lines serve nearly 34 ferry stations along both sides of the river, connecting Pudong with Puxi.

Ticket Price:

Pedestrians: 2 yuan (28 cents)

Bikes, e-bikes: 2.8 yuan

Motorcycle: 4 yuan

Taigong Line

The Taigong Line is a historic and scenic ferry route across the Huangpu River. Locals and visitors alike know it as the "most beautiful sunset ferry route", celebrated for its breathtaking views of Shanghai's iconic skyline.
