One of the festival's standout additions was the debut of the newly Michelin-starred restaurant, New Wave by Da Vittorio, a unique dining concept located at UCCA Edge in Shanghai's Jing'an district. This Italian-inspired venue introduces innovative treats like the "Bao all' italiana", a creative fusion of Italian and Chinese flavors that has quickly become a crowd favorite.

Beyond the culinary indulgence, the festival offered a range of interactive experiences for guests. Visitors participated in activities such as finding the iconic Michelin Man, and enjoyed chef demonstrations in which culinary experts revealed the secrets behind their exquisite dishes.

Moreover, the festival extended its offerings with exclusive dining experiences, such as the collaborative dinners featuring renowned chefs from Maison Lameloise and Xin Rong Ji. These dinners showcased the harmonious fusion of French and Chinese culinary traditions, providing a unique and unforgettable dining experience for attendees.

As part of the festival, HKRI Taikoo Hui also presented a series of promotions and activities, including beauty and shopping events, exclusive discounts, and special giveaways to enhance the overall experience for visitors. The city's shopping season will continue to provide a range of benefits to shoppers until July 31, including gifts with purchases, points redemption, discounts on qualifying purchases, and lucky draw opportunities.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, as well as the inauguration of the China-France Year of Cultural Tourism. Teaming up with the Michelin Guide, which was established in France in 1900, HKRI Taikoo Hui aimed to light up Shanghai's urban scene with this fusion of Chinese and French culinary cultures.

By bringing Michelin-starred establishments to the festival, the event elevated the city's culinary tourism sector, infusing the city with a vibrant and luxurious energy. This initiative has not only supported Jing'an in exploring cutting-edge consumer trends, but also enriched the international appeal of events like the Shanghai Shopping Festival and the 2024 Shanghai Night Festival.

The 2024 Shanghai Michelin Guide Food Festival not only celebrated the art of fine dining, but also served as a platform for cultural exchange and culinary innovation. With its diverse array of Michelin-starred restaurants and engaging activities, the festival presented a feast for the senses, embodying the spirit of culinary excellence and international collaboration.
