Jing'an Temple Square, situated in Shanghai's bustling downtown business district near the Jing'an Temple, reopened to the public on March 18 following an extensive renovation that spanned more than eight years.

Covering an area of approximately 7,529 square meters, the renovation focused on enhancing public space and transportation. Key improvements include raising the ground level of the plaza, upgrading the transportation infrastructure, and integrating green and sustainable ecological elements.

The renovation started in November 2015 and marked the square's second major remodeling project since its original completion in 1999. It aims to transform the square into a new urban public space that integrates catering, retail, and cultural activities, as outlined by the management operated by the Jing'an district government.

In addition to its commercial functions, the venue is currently hosting a modern Chinese art exhibition, scheduled to run for three months. The management also announced plans to introduce a series of cultural events in the coming months.
