Shanghai, Hong Kong entrepreneurs forge key collaborations at economic roundtable

Representatives from Shanghai and Hong Kong gathered at the 2024 Shanghai-Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Roundtable in Hong Kong on April 27, emphasizing collaboration in technological innovation, financial services, and supply chain integration to bolster economic and trade exchanges between the two cities.
During the event, the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, along with four financial institutions, signed a strategic agreement on cross-border financial cooperation, aiming to facilitate collaboration in areas such as technological innovation, advanced manufacturing, green initiatives, and the digital economy.
Additionally, 14 enterprises from both cities signed memorandums of cooperation, focusing on projects in artificial intelligence, biomedicine, digital economy, low-altitude economy, and food trade.
In a significant move, Lingang Group made significant strides by forming multiple cooperation agreements with Hong Kong-based entities, including a strategic partnership with Towngas Energy, focusing on green asset investment and technology development.
Agreements were also established with various organizations to drive projects in Shanghai. Notably, the Hong Kong Quantum Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, in collaboration with Lingang Group and the Lin-gang Special Area, signed a memorandum to establish a battery digitalization technology platform project, aiming to upgrade the new energy industry.
Furthermore, the University of Hong Kong (HKU) solidified agreements with Lingang Group, Minhang district, and Huangpu district to establish its headquarters at the Lin-gang Bund Center in Huangpu and to establish the HKU Interdisciplinary Research Institute in the Caohejing area, focusing on research in various fields including future electronics, functional materials, intelligent manufacturing, and interdisciplinary urban science.
