Construction of Shanghai Songjiang Railway Station enters next phase
The construction of the Shanghai Songjiang Railway Station officially entered the next phase, with the closure of the main station's steel roof on May 6, according to the China Railway Shanghai Group.
Situated in Songjiang district, the Shanghai Songjiang Railway Station is built on the north side of Songjiangnan Railway Station. The new five-floor station spans 60,000 square meters with a maximum capacity of 5,000 people.
The Shanghai Songjiang Railway Station is one of the eight stations on the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-speed Railway, which has a total length of 163.8 kilometers and is designed to operate high-speed trains with an average speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
This railway is a major project connecting Shanghai, Suzhou of Jiangsu province, and Huzhou of Zhejiang province in the Yangtze River Delta's integrated infrastructure development.
Upon its completion, the project will further improve the regional road network layout and effectively relieve traffic pressure of the Shanghai-Nanjing Railway and the Shanghai-Hangzhou Railway, which is essential to promote social and economic development along the line.
