The Shanghai Municipal People's Government Open Day kicks off with an invitation for residents to take part in a sports adventure at the Huangpu Riverside. The announcement was made through an official post on the Shanghai Administration of Sports WeChat account.
Scheduled to take place on June 30 from 2 pm to 4 pm, weather permitting, the event involves the green way and Dock 1 Skate Park along the Huangpu Riverside. This initiative aims to engage 10 teams, each consisted of a child age over 5 and a parent, who share a passion for skateboarding.
Families keen on participating can register via the Shanghai Administration of Sports mini-program.
Participants can look forward to a series of mini-games, including breakdancing, sport climbing, BMX freestyle, and skateboarding. The Dock 1 at the Huangpu Riverside, which was a venue of the 2024 Olympic Qualifier Series in May, promises an immersive experience for all involved.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable outing, it is recommended that children come equipped with skate shoes for optimal performance. Additionally, security insurance will be provided after participants sign a letter of commitment affirming their adherence to event safety guidelines.
As Shanghai gears up to showcase its sporting spirit against the backdrop of the Huangpu Riverside, this event stands as a testament to the city's commitment to fostering active lifestyles and community engagement.
