Feb 26 – Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met with WorldSkills President Francis Hourant.

Chen said that Shanghai would take the opportunity of hosting the 2026 WorldSkills Competition to build a more effective lifelong learning and training system, inspiring more people to achieve success through skilled occupations. Maniewicz praised Shanghai's impressive development, noting that the city meets all the requirements to host the conference. He expressed hopes for deepened cooperation in areas such as the low-altitude economy, the satellite internet, and artificial intelligence.
