Feb 26 – Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met with WorldSkills President Francis Hourant.

Chen said that Shanghai would take the opportunity of hosting the 2026 WorldSkills Competition to build a more effective lifelong learning and training system, inspiring more people to achieve success through skilled occupations. He said he hopes to expand cooperation with WorldSkills International across various areas.
For his part, Hourant emphasized WorldSkills' commitment to learning from the advanced concepts behind the organization of the 2026 WorldSkills Competition and the practical experience that was gained in skilled talent development. He conveyed his eagerness to collaborate with Shanghai to promote global skills initiatives in future.
Feb 26 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Mario Maniewicz, director of the Radiocommunication Bureau at the International Telecommunication Union.

Gong expressed his anticipation for Shanghai's bid to host the 2027 World Radiocommunication Conference, viewing it as a chance to deepen practical cooperation and jointly promote the high-quality development of the global radio industry.
Maniewicz praised Shanghai's impressive development, noting that the city meets all the requirements to host the conference. He expressed hopes for deepened cooperation in areas such as the low-altitude economy, the satellite internet, and artificial intelligence.
