China Railway Shanghai Group has unveiled 11 new ticket packages across major railway lines in the Yangtze River Delta region, aiming to enhance travel flexibility and save money for passengers.

In addition to the existing 60-ride/30-day package, the 10 new monthly ticket packages allow passengers to take a total of 10 to 55 trips within a period of 30 days at discounted prices. A 10-ride/90-day pass has been introduced in addition to the 20-ride/90-day package.

The new additions offer frequent travelers more choices on five major regional railways: the Xuzhou-Lianyungang, the Nanjing-Hangzhou, the Beijing-Hong Kong (Hefei-Huangshan section), the Hangzhou-Nanchang (Huangshan-Nanchang section), and the Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong lines.

Holders of these ticket packages can travel on any of the high-speed routes at discounted rates from 10 to 38 percent off standard fares.

Taking the second-class fare from Nanjing South Railway Station to Hangzhou East Railway Station as an example, purchasing a 30-ride/30-day pass saves about 500 yuan ($69) compared to buying a single ticket each time. That's a reduction of 14 percent.

Opting for the 60-ride/30-day pass saves about 2,000 yuan compared to single-ticket purchases, a reduction of about 30 percent.

According to the China Railway Shanghai Group, ticket holders can book their journeys in advance via the 12306 website, mobile app, or self-service kiosks.

Once a reservation is made, passengers can enter the station and board the train using a valid ID. Additionally, the maximum number of reservations for trip-based tickets has increased from four to 10, offering greater flexibility.
