One Piece anime series Mugiwara Store debuts in Shanghai

Fans of the beloved Japanese anime TV series One Piece now have even more reason to celebrate: China's first official Mugiwara Store — the series' flagship merchandise outlet — opened its doors on April 27 at the Bailian ZX Creative Centre in Shanghai.
Marking a milestone in the anime's global expansion, the store's launch coincides with the 25th anniversary of One Piece, which first aired on Fuji TV in Japan in 1999 and has since surpassed 1,000 episodes.
Created by Japanese manga artist Eiichiro Oda and animated by Toei Animation, One Piece has become one of the most iconic and influential anime franchises in the world.
Named after the Straw Hat crew at the heart of the story, the Mugiwara Store offers a wide range of licensed merchandise — from collectible figurines and blind boxes to apparel, stationery and store-exclusive items — promising a treasure trove of delights for fans and collectors alike. An opening day ceremony was held to engage with fans and celebrate the store's debut.
Located in the Bailian ZX Creative Centre — a rising cultural and retail destination for Shanghai's younger generation — the flagship store adds to the center's growing lineup of anime-themed experiences and strengthens its appeal as a hub for pop culture enthusiasts.
The collaboration also reflects a broader strategy to integrate popular intellectual property into commercial spaces, creating immersive experiences for local consumers.
The store's arrival is expected to mark a new chapter for One Piece in China — offering fans a dedicated space to connect with the world of the Straw Hat Pirates.
