The Shanghai Electronic Certification Authority has developed a digital service platform that revolutionizes the identity verification process for visitors to the Chinese mainland, offering swift and efficient passport verification upon entry.

The platform is poised to make its debut at the 11th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair, scheduled to be held from June 11 to 13 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.

The service platform is able to simultaneously recognize and verify passport information, catering to inbound visitors to China.

The platform is able to recognize information from passports and exit-entry permits in both hard copy and digital formats, encompassing data from nearly 200 countries and regions worldwide.

In addition to streamlining the identity verification process for inbound visitors, the platform promises a seamless entry experience by facilitating the swift opening of bank accounts, obtaining local mobile phone numbers, and accessing payment services, among other services.

In a bid to enhance the accessibility and utility of the platform, the Shanghai Electronic Certification Authority has forged strategic partnerships with prominent financial institutions, including the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Bank of Communications, and Bank of Shanghai.

The introduction of this state-of-the-art passport recognition and verification platform underscores China's commitment to leveraging technological innovation to enhance the visitor experience and streamline administrative processes for inbound travelers.
