Paris 1874: Tonight with the Impressionists, an immersive exhibition celebrating the 150th anniversary of Impressionism, will debut in July at The Vers, a newly opened immersive experience center at the HKRI Taikoo Hui in Shanghai.

Developed by The Metaverse Project, an influential China's brand in large-scale immersive and interactive content, The Vers was unveiled on June 18 during a launch event that also introduced the exhibition.

The exhibition, co-produced by Gedeon Experiences and the Musee d'Orsay in Paris, is the first event to be held at The Vers.

Covering over 1,000 square meters, The Vers features a 750-square-meter large-scale virtual reality experience zone that can accommodate up to 70 visitors simultaneously.

Putting on VR headsets, visitors will be transported back to the streets of Paris in 1874, experiencing the birth of Impressionism, participating in the opening night of the first Impressionist exhibition, and witnessing a pivotal moment in the history of art.

The immersive exhibition will also be put on at the Museum of Art Pudong, as a complement to the ongoing exhibition Paths to Modernity: Masterpieces from the Musee d'Orsay.

It is produced by French company Excurio, a developer of virtual and augmented reality solutions, with academic support from senior curators of the Musee d'Orsay, Sylvie Patry and Anne Robbins.
