Tom & Jerry pop-up, pet shows animate the Bund
The Bund Finance Center in Shanghai has kicked off a month-long initiative to enhance visitor experiences by embracing the pet-friendly economy, animated collaborations, and nighttime entertainment.
The commercial complex, which is located close to the Bund in Huangpu district, has partnered with Warner Bros to unveil a pop-up cafe and store in celebration of the 85th anniversary of the beloved classic cartoon, Tom and Jerry.
Launched on June 21, the pop-up shop is adorned with whimsical features inspired by the animations, including oversized milk boxes and cheese-themed cashiers, complemented by delectable custom-made desserts.
Visitors can explore and purchase from a collection of over 100 classic Tom and Jerry souvenirs. The walls lining Fangbang Middle Road, connecting BFC and Yuyuan Garden, have also been transformed with vibrant murals dedicated to the iconic characters of Tom and Jerry.
The Bund Fluffy Club, a pet-friendly space within BFC, will host 15 interactive events in the following month, inviting furry companions to partake in sports, cruise tours, and even strut across the runway in fashion shows.
An expansive outdoor market featuring more than 60 pet-friendly brands will facilitate pet meetups, pool parties, and other avenues for harmonious human-pet co-living experiences.
This event aims to cultivate a thriving pet-related ecosystem within the mall, positioning BFC as a comprehensive destination for pets and their owners.
Notable additions include the launch of Pet Fresh, a local fresh pet food brand, and Alfei & Buddy Pet Mart.
Moreover, Marsmart's Shanghai flagship store and the country's pioneering indoor human-pet co-living park, Air Park, are set to open at the BFC between June and July.
In tandem with these pet-centric offerings, 15 bars and restaurants within the shopping complex will introduce evening Happy Hours. Michelin-starred restaurants like Xinrongji will extend their operating hours until 11 pm, promising a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
