Shanghai's Putuo district is gearing up to hold a series of ice and snow events from Aug 8 to 10 in celebration of the National Fitness Day, an annual celebration that falls on Aug 8. This reflects the nation's commitment to health and fitness and honors the legacy of the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics.

The main venue of the event is located at the Putuo Ice Sports Center in TOP Central Park, where a diverse range of experiential sporting activities will be held over the course of three days.

The highlight of the event is the "ice and snow carnival". From Aug 8 to 10, from 2 pm to 6 pm each day, a one-hour public lecture will be open to beginners, imparting knowledge about the Winter Olympics, basic safety instructions for ice skating and guidance from professional coaches. 

Additionally, activities such as dry-land curling, dry-land ice hockey, VR skiing, and tabletop ice hockey will make for an engaging ice and snow competition, all in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

For technology sports enthusiasts, the "technology sports carnival" will be a treat, offering futuristic and immersive experiences like virtual skiing, wingsuit flying, and drone soccer. 

The sports, tourism and consumption exhibition area, combining sports with leisure and commerce, promises exciting experiences with sports lottery interactive zones, brand participations, and sports marketplaces offering various activities and discounts.

To encourage more people to participate in national fitness activities and ignite the city's passion for sports, over 30 sports venues in Putuo district will open to the public for free on Aug 8.
