China Adult Fans of Lego Festival to open this Saturday
The seventh China Adult Fans of Lego Festival, or AFOL Festival, alongside the Lego Fan Works Exhibition, will take place in Fengjing Ancient Town in Jinshan district, from Aug 9 to 10. The event invites Lego enthusiasts from around the world to join a creative celebration open to all ages and cultures.
On the opening day, seven online and offline communities certified by Lego for adult fans will showcase more than 500 creations, the largest number in the event's history. Exhibits will include My Own Creation, or MOC designs, photography displays, and dedicated collector zones, covering categories such as large-scale dioramas, mecha sculptures, and architectural art.
The exhibition will also feature over 100 vintage Lego sets, rare pieces reflecting nearly half a century of the Lego Group's innovation, offering a comprehensive look at the brand's historical evolution. Beyond static displays, competitive events such as Lego robot battles and timed MOC building contests will add to the excitement.
"The core value of the AFOL Festival lies in providing a face-to-face platform for Lego fans worldwide," said Jiang Shenghui, an official with the China AFOL Festival organizing committee.
"Through competitions, challenges, and sharing sessions, the event not only meets the needs of hardcore fans seeking in-depth exchanges but also offers unique interactive experiences for general visitors."
Additionally, attendees can combine their visit with a trip to the Legoland Shanghai Resort while enjoying the unique charm of Fengjing, a renowned historical and cultural town in China.
