China Eastern Airlines will resume direct flights between Shanghai and Vancouver starting Sept 25, operating the route twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays with Airbus A350-900 wide-body aircraft.

Flight MU581 will depart Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 1:20 pm and land in Vancouver at 9:10 am local time, with a flight time of 10 hours and 50 minutes.

The return flight, MU582, will leave Vancouver at 12:50 pm local time and arrive in Shanghai at 4:15 pm the following day, with a flight time of about 12 hours.

The A350-900 is equipped with air-to-ground connectivity, allowing passengers to access onboard Wifi and stay connected throughout the flight.

The resumption comes after China Southern Airlines and Air China announced plans to add flights to Canada in late August and mid-September, bringing the total number of weekly services operated by Chinese mainland carriers to 24.
