World Women's Expo unveils permanent venue in Shanghai
The permanent venue for the World Women's Expo in China was unveiled in Shanghai on Jan 7, marking a new step in building an international platform for exchange and innovation among women worldwide.
Launched to foster cross-border dialogue and creative collaboration, the expo places special emphasis on themes related to women and children.
Its inaugural edition is scheduled to open in Bangkok this summer, making it the first international expo dedicated to this unique thematic focus.
On the same day, the Greenland Bund Convention Centre was officially inaugurated as the expo's permanent Chinese venue in China.
The center is part of a 1.2-million-square-meter integrated complex that combines business, office, and park facilities, offering one-stop services for conferences and exhibitions.
Wang Nan, head of the Centre, said the venue plans to host at least 200 conferences and activities in 2026, including international summits on global governance, tech innovation, and cultural topics.
