Shanghai set to host 31st Volvo China Open
The 31st Volvo China Open will be held in Shanghai from April 23 to 26, with a total prize purse of $2.75 million.
As one of the premier international men's professional golf tournaments staged in China, the 2026 edition is expected to offer valuable world ranking points, giving Chinese players a chance to improve their standings ahead of potential qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
The tournament is organized by the Chinese Golf Association and co-sanctioned by the China Tour and the DP World Tour.
Cao Shan, chief operating officer of the China Tour, said competing in top-tier tournaments helps Chinese players strengthen their international competitiveness and further integrate Chinese golf into the global game.
As the longest-running international professional golf tournament in China, the Volvo China Open has played a key role in nurturing generations of Chinese golfers and strengthening ties between China and the global golf community.
Ben Cowen, chief tournament business officer of the DP World Tour, said the Volvo China Open is an important stop on the tour's international calendar and helps promote cultural exchange through the sport.
