As one of Shanghai's largest urban green spaces, Century Park has launched a new 12,000-square-meter pet-friendly zone where your furry friends can play, get groomed, and even go camping.

In addition to basic facilities such as pet drinking stations, waste bag dispensers, and tethering posts, the pet zone also provides services including grooming, washing, boarding, and daycare.

To meet growing demand for pet behavior training, the pet zone plans to introduce courses in basic obedience and socialization skills led by certified trainers.

The pet zone also includes a pet-themed performance area and a camping area. Regular activities such as workshops and competitions will be held to help owners connect and build community networks.

A pet swimming pool is scheduled to open in May as temperatures rise. The pool will feature a sloped design to accommodate both novice and experienced furry swimmers.

To strengthen safety, the pet zone has separated activity zones for large dogs and small-to-medium-sized dogs, ensuring safe and worry-free play.

The pet zone seeks to balance rising demand for pet-friendly recreation with the need to maintain order and safety in public green spaces.

Pets remain prohibited in other areas of the park to reduce potential conflicts in shared public spaces.

The park is currently operating on a trial basis and will officially open on March 8.

Reservations are required. Pet owners can make reservations by calling 191-2157-6318 or through the "世纪宠物乐园 (Century Pet Park)" mini program on WeChat.

The small-dog zone currently allows a maximum of 15 dogs, while the large-dog zone accommodates up to 20. Capacity limits may be adjusted based on the results of trial operations.

Visitors must provide valid pet registration documents and follow park guidelines, including supervising pets at all times and properly disposing of waste.

Operators noted that continuous rainy weather during the early trial period has limited visitor turnout, and management plans will continue to be refined as attendance increases.
