Shanghai brings screen productions into global spotlight at HK exhibition
Shanghai showcased its selected screen productions at the 30th Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) from March 17 to 20, with the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Radio and Television organizing a joint pavilion for the third consecutive year.
Shanghai Municipal Administration of Radio and Television organized more than 100 local companies, along with promotional events, business meetings and industry forums, presenting over 100 film and television projects.
The pavilion highlighted major productions, including city-themed works such as A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains and Shanghai-style works such as A Better Life and Shine on Me, with a focus on copyright distribution and co-production opportunities.
The Shanghai delegation presented applications of emerging technologies such as virtual production, AI-generated content and digital humans, reflecting the growing integration of technology in film and television production.
The Shanghai Micro-Drama Global Promotion Conference highlighted Shanghai's development in the sector, with several projects drawing attention from international buyers.
In addition, Moonton Games introduced new cross-media IP projects centered on micro-dramas, exploring new models linking gaming and screen content.
Notably, Shanghai Broadcasting Film and Television Producers Association and the Hong Kong Screenwriters' Guild signed a memorandum of understanding to support talent development through lectures, project incubation and exchange programs.
An official from the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Radio and Television said Shanghai will continue to improve its film and television ecosystem and deepen cooperation with Hong Kong and global partners to expand the global reach of its screen productions featuring Chinese and Shanghai elements.
