As the subtropical high strengthens and extends westward, Shanghai will experience mainly cloudy conditions this week, with brief localized showers. Temperatures are expected to peak at around 34 C in the middle of the week, so take precautions against the heat.

Major textile and fruit trade fairs

Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics Autumn Edition, along with several concurrent textile and apparel fairs, will be held from Aug 25 to 27 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), bringing together more than 4,600 companies and showcasing the latest industry trends.

The 2026 China International Fruit Expo will run from Aug 26 to 28 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, showcasing fresh produce from around the world and convening industry professionals.

Extended shopping hours along Nanjing Road

Several stores in the Nanjing Road commercial area have extended their evening hours through Aug 31.

Once a major crossroads on the northern route of the ancient Silk Road, Qiuci, also known as Kucha, was a meeting point of civilizations.

The dance drama interweaves Kumarajiva's eastward journey with Xuanzang's westward journey across time, bringing to the stage the fusion and evolution of Qiuci's culture and art.
