Recap: Intl exchange activity of Shanghai leadership (Aug 31 – Sept 6)
Sept 2 – Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met with Chen Huaiyu, chairman of the Export-Import Bank of China, Wang Chunying, president of the Export-Import Bank of China, and representatives of international companies and institutions attending the fourth International Ship Financing Forum.
Chen briefed the guests on Shanghai's latest progress in developing itself into an international shipping center. He said the city’s development was closely tied to its port and shipping industry. Shanghai is seizing opportunities arising from the sector's green and intelligent transformation, strengthening its capacity to allocate global shipping resources, and promoting the industry's high-quality development, Chen said.
Chen encouraged international companies and institutions to leverage their strengths, deepen cooperation with Shanghai, and bring more new shipping business, projects, and institutions to the city.
Among the corporate representatives were George Procopiou, founder of Greek shipping company Dynacom, Bing Chen, chairman, president, and CEO of Seaspan Corporation, and Angeliki Frangou, chairwoman and CEO of Navios Maritime Partners L.P.
International corporate and institutional representatives expressed willingness to further leverage the city's combined strengths in shipping, finance, technology, and supply chain management, expand their investment and business presence in Shanghai, and deepen cooperation in shipbuilding and high-end shipping services.
