Century-old brand Wen Wan Tai was founded in 1850. The reason why its pickles stand the test of time lies in the sauce its manufacturer selects.

The traditional method of making the sauce has been retained, with the vegetables sun-dried for a long time during the process – allowing them to gradually acquire the flavor of the sauce while retaining their original fragrance.

Wen Wan Tai has the only factory in Shanghai that produces handmade pickled vegetables. In 2017, the craft of pickling vegetables employed by Wen Wan Tai was included in the intangible cultural heritage list of Jinshan district in Shanghai.
