Oct 17 – Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met with Remo Ruffini, chairman and CEO of Moncler Group, and his delegation in Shanghai.

During the meeting, Chen highlighted that Shanghai is accelerating its development as an international consumption center, emphasizing that Moncler's commitment to sustainability and creative fashion aligns well with the city's goals. He welcomed the launch of more global products, creative showcases, cultural exchanges, and fashion events in Shanghai. He added that the city will continue enhancing its business environment through market-driven, law-based, and internationalized reforms, offering efficient and convenient services.

Ruffini expressed his admiration for Shanghai's dynamic fashion scene and its ever-evolving international character, stating that the city's efforts to attract foreign investment, stimulate consumption, and support innovation are impressive. He also noted that hosting "The City of Genius" event in Shanghai was the ideal choice, reaffirming Moncler's commitment to increasing investment and innovation in the city, with a focus on delivering superior products, services, and experiences.

Oct 15 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Achim Steiner, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme, and his delegation in Shanghai.

Gong highlighted that in recent years, Shanghai has promoted a comprehensive green and low-carbon transformation of its economy and society, with the city leading the world in terms of electric vehicles produced. He emphasized Shanghai's commitment to integrating its dual carbon goals — achieving a carbon dioxide peak before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060 — into overall development strategies, further advancing the green transition to achieve sustainable and high-quality growth. Gong expressed hopes that the UNDP would support Shanghai in building a green industrial system, enhancing green finance services, promoting biodiversity protection, and improving ecological restoration efforts.

Steiner noted his 20-year connection with Shanghai and praised the city's remarkable development, saying it serves as a model for developing countries and offers a glimpse into the future of economic growth. He expressed UNDP's willingness to deepen cooperation with Shanghai, build collaboration platforms, and share international insights to better support the city's development.

Oct 17 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Shakhrat Nuryshev, Kazakhstan's ambassador to China, and his delegation in Shanghai.

Gong emphasized that China and Kazakhstan are friendly neighbors, with Shanghai playing a key role in their cooperation. He expressed hopes to use the Belt and Road Initiative as an opportunity to deepen practical collaboration and foster mutual benefits. Highlighting Kazakhstan's stunning natural landscapes and rich cultural resources, Gong noted that Shanghai is striving to become a world-class tourist destination and aims to enhance cooperation in education and cultural tourism, encouraging more frequent exchanges between the two regions.

Nuryshev praised the strong friendship between the two nations, driven by their leaders, and acknowledged Shanghai's important role within China. He expressed Kazakhstan's desire to strengthen ties between local governments, deepen cooperation across various sectors, and forge a closer relationship between Almaty and Shanghai.

Oct 18 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Governor Manuel Mamba of Cagayan Province in the Philippines, and his delegation in Shanghai.

Gong noted the broad potential for economic cooperation between Shanghai and Cagayan, welcoming Cagayan enterprises to showcase their products and services at the China International Import Expo. He emphasized the complementary strengths of both regions and expressed hopes to enhance industrial collaboration, boost mutual investment, and achieve shared benefits. Gong also highlighted Shanghai's interest in strengthening exchanges in healthcare and elderly care — as well as promoting practical cooperation in public health — and fostering cultural and tourism ties.

Governor Mamba stated that the primary purpose of his visit was to learn from Shanghai's experience in public health and elderly care, expressing a desire to enhance cooperation in these areas. He affirmed the Philippines' view of China as a good neighbor and partner and emphasized the importance of strengthening and deepening the friendship between the two countries to inject new vitality into economic development.

Oct 19 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with the United Kingdom Foreign Secretary David Lammy and his delegation in Shanghai.

Gong highlighted that Shanghai plays a vital role in fostering China-UK cooperation, having established friendly ties with London's financial district, as well as sister city relationships with Liverpool and Greater London. He noted that Shanghai is the preferred location for British businesses investing in China, with over two-thirds of British companies in China basing their headquarters in the city. Gong expressed hopes for further collaboration in trade and two-way investment, and welcomed UK businesses to expand their presence in sectors such as green economy, digital economy, advanced manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare. He also emphasized the importance of deepening exchanges in education, science and technology, culture, and sports, encouraging tourism between the two regions.

David Lammy expressed a desire to implement more open measures, aiming to deepen cooperation in areas like climate change, finance, industry, education, culture, and sports, and to strengthen ties and exchanges between the two sides.
