June 26 – Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Chen expressed Shanghai's willingness to work with the Vietnamese side to further deepen friendship city cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City.

He called for strengthened cooperation in areas such as financial trade, green development, digital transformation, and urban governance, while promoting people-to-people exchanges, especially among the younger generation.

Pham said that he hopes that the two sides will advance practical cooperation in investment, trade, green development, and the digital economy, while fostering closer ties in education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, aiming to make steady progress in building a Vietnam-China community of shared future.

Chen welcomed Braun-Pivet to Shanghai and introduced Shanghai's economic and social development, expressing the city's commitment to deepening China-France exchanges.

He said Shanghai is ready to play a greater role in advancing practical cooperation across various fields, especially in green, digital, and smart development, while enhancing the sharing of transformation experiences and promoting closer cultural and people-to-people ties.

Braun-Pivet noted that Shanghai is a key hub for France-China cooperation, home to many French businesses and residents.

Building on the strong foundation of existing ties, she expressed hope for deeper economic and trade relations, enhanced exchanges in areas such as technological innovation, green development, and aging populations, and closer collaboration to tackle global challenges like climate change.

June 27 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand Wanmuhamadnoor Matha.

Gong welcomed the Thailand delegation and emphasized that Shanghai attaches great importance to its friendly ties with Thailand, with friendship city relationships already established with Chiangmai Province and Bangkok, leading to a range of fruitful partnerships.

Gong expressed hope that the 50th anniversary of China-Thailand diplomatic relations will further boost local-level collaboration, especially in trade, investment, science and technology, education, culture, and tourism.

He also welcomed more Thai businesses to participate in the China International Import Expo and encouraged greater exchanges among enterprises, universities, and research institutions, as well as increased two-way tourism.

Wanmuhamadnoor Matha praised Shanghai as a world-class metropolis that has made remarkable progress in developing its "five centers" — namely, an international economic center, financial center, trade center, shipping center, and scientific and technological innovation center.

He expressed hope for deeper exchanges between Shanghai and cities like Bangkok and Chiangmai, aiming to foster mutual learning and shared development.

Gong welcomed Schindler's continued investment in Shanghai, encouraging the company to bring more high-end functions, cutting-edge projects, and quality resources to the city to further enhance the role of its China headquarters.

He expressed hope that Schindler would increase R&D investment and strengthen cooperation with local enterprises and research institutions to drive high-end, intelligent, green, and integrated industrial development, contributing to Shanghai's growth as an international science and technology innovation hub.

Ming said that Schindler will continue to expand its presence in Shanghai by increasing factory output, promoting the commercialization of more research achievements, and strengthening efforts in R&D and talent development.
