China's annual two sessions conclude
The 14th National People's Congress, China's national legislature, concluded its fourth session on March 12.
Lawmakers approved the government work report and the outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) for national economic and social development.
They also passed the Ecological and Environmental Code, the Ethnic Unity and Progress Promotion Law, and the National Development Planning Law.
The Shanghai delegation to the National People's Congress wrapped up their work at the session and returned to Shanghai later that day. The delegation submitted three motions and 142 suggestions to the National People's Congress.
The fourth session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference concluded on March 11. CPPCC National Committee members from Shanghai who attended the meeting completed their work and returned to Shanghai later that day.
Preliminary statistics show that national political advisers from Shanghai submitted 313 proposals during the session.
