April 2 - Chen Jining, Party secretary of Shanghai, met with Kevin Ali, CEO of Organon, a United States-based biopharmaceutical company.
Chen emphasized biomedicine as one of Shanghai's top three industries for development. The city has implemented innovative policies aimed at reducing costs, enhancing clinical research, optimizing approval processes, and exploring health insurance. Shanghai will offer comprehensive support to Organon, assisting in enhancing its headquarters' capabilities and expanding its research and manufacturing operations.
Ali acknowledged China as Organon's second-largest market, attributing the company's substantial growth to Shanghai's inclusive and transparent business environment. The company will expedite its expansion in the city, collaborate with Chinese partners to deliver innovative products and health solutions and assist more Chinese innovative drug enterprises in accessing the global market.

April 2 - Chen Jining, Party secretary of Shanghai, met with Holger Klein, chairman and CEO of German technology company ZF Group.
Chen extended congratulations to ZF for joining the International Business Leaders' Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai last year. He highlighted the automotive industry as one of Shanghai's key sectors and emphasized that the Yangtze River Delta region, where Shanghai is situated, boasts the most comprehensive automotive industry chain in China. ZF is welcome to further increase its investment in R&D in the city. Shanghai remains committed to refining its business environment, providing top-notch service connections, and supporting the company in achieving greater, superior development.
Klein expressed that it's a deep honor to be a member of the advisory council, emphasizing its status as a high-level and open platform for global engagement. The company is poised to capitalize on digitalization and green trends, expand its business operations, and better contribute to the high-quality development of the automotive industry.

April 2 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with a delegation led by Vientiane Mayor Atsaphangthong Siphandone.
Over the years, Vientiane and Shanghai have fostered extensive cooperation in economy, trade, culture, and health. Gong emphasized leveraging the Belt and Road Initiative for deeper ties. He highlighted the vast potential for economic collaboration and welcomed Laotian enterprises to join the China International Import Expo. Gong also sought support for Shanghai investments in Vientiane and encouraged educational, technological, and tourism partnerships.
Atsaphangthong echoed the sentiment, aimed at enhancing mutual understanding and inviting Shanghai enterprises and tourists to engage with Vientiane.
