Recap: Intl exchange activities of Shanghai leadership (Sept 22-28)
Sept 25 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with a US congressional delegation led by Representative Adam Smith.
Gong Zheng said Shanghai is committed to building a world-class business environment, noting that the number of newly established foreign-invested enterprises has remained at a high level since last year, and encouraging more US companies to invest in the city.
He added that Shanghai, recognized as a safe and livable city with top universities and leading firms, welcomes more young Americans to study and work here and will continue to improve services and support for talent development.

Sept 25 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Kim Dong-yeon, governor of Gyeonggi province, South Korea. The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on friendly cooperation and exchanges.
Gong encouraged more Gyeonggi-based companies to participate in the China International Import Expo, increase mutual investment, and jointly explore broader markets. He called for stronger cooperation in education, technology, and cultural exchanges.
Kim expressed Gyeonggi's willingness to promote business exchanges and deepen cooperation with Shanghai, particularly in artificial intelligence, through the CIIE. He added that Gyeonggi will strengthen university ties and promote tourism and exchanges to enhance mutual understanding.
