April 28 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Venezuelan Vice-President Delcy Rodriguez.

Gong said that Shanghai established friendly relations with Carabobo state, Venezuela last year.

He expressed a desire to deepen cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, industrial investment, artificial intelligence, and infrastructure.

Rodriguez expressed Venezuela's desire to enhance collaboration with China in the fields of economy, agriculture, and food.

She highlighted Shanghai's key role in global economic development and called for expanded cooperation with the city across various sectors to promote mutual growth.
