Recap: Intl exchange activities of Shanghai leadership (May 26 – June 1)
May 27 – Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met with Ahmad Muzani, secretary general of the Great Indonesia Movement Party and chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly.
Chen emphasized that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia. He expressed Shanghai's eagerness to work with Indonesia to further deepen pragmatic cooperation across various fields, continuously enhance economic and trade ties, and promote closer people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
Muzani recognized Shanghai as a key hub for bilateral economic and trade cooperation, as well as a popular destination for Indonesian tourists. He said he hopes to deepen exchanges and cooperation in areas such as economic and trade development, green transformation, education, healthcare, culture, and tourism.
May 26 – Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with Nikos Hardalias, governor of Attica, Greece.
Gong expressed his eagerness to strengthen two-way investment and promote the joint growth of enterprises. He also called for enhanced exchanges and mutual learning in areas such as urban renewal, infrastructure development, education and healthcare, as well as deeper cooperation in culture, tourism and youth engagement.
He encouraged more businesses from the Attica region to participate in this year's China International Import Expo.
Hardalias said that since the signing of the letter of intent for strategic cooperation in January, steady progress has been made across various fields. He expressed his anticipation for closer cooperation with Shanghai in the future.
